Activity 1: Dictionary Reference: Learning New Words

Activity 2: Make meaningful sentences of the following words:


1. anxious: I am anxious to know my result.

2. envelope: This envelope is very costly.

3. blotting paper: I need a blotting paper.


Activity 3: Answer the following questions:


1. Who is the poet writing the letter to?

Ans. He is writing the letter to his mother.


2. What did the poet write on the envelope?

Ans. He wrote the address.


3. Why was the poet anxious?

Ans. He was anxious to keep the letter neat and clean.


4. What is the meaning of 'My pen travels slowly'?

Ans. It means that the poet writes slowly.


5. What is the meaning of 'There's just room for ten'?

Ans. It means that the letter has a little space now.


Activity4:Pick out the adverbs in the following sentences.








Activity 5:Find any five 'describing words' from the poem and write them in the space provided.
